Working on this ‘thing’ reminded me of one of the aspects of the creative process that I really get a kick out of. The only clear idea that I started with was ‘Well, I said I’m going to make something this week and it’s Sunday night and if I don’t make something I’ll feel like a dope so I better make something, even if that thing is a bunch of random lines.’ So I started making some random lines in my sketch book and after a while those lines started to look a little like a bird. I dropped my bird sketch into Photoshop and Illustrator and this is what I eventually came up with:
Google Translate says that the Japanese word for ‘Bird’ is ‘Tori’. I’m quite happy with how she turned out.
