In order to do all of the things that I want to do with my ever so brief remaining time on this planet, I need to raise the level of my game. Physical. Mental. Spiritual. The list starts with ‘physical’, because it’s incredibly difficult for your brain and spirit to work in an optimal way if you’re fighting bad body chemistry brought on by a lack of sleep, exercise and proper nutrition. If those things are out of alignment then you’re working with one hand tied behind your back. Blindfolded. Stumbing around in the dark. Possibly making advances here and there, but hamstringing yourself at every turn. One step forward, two steps back. Deep sleep resets and rejuvenates your brain. Exercise balances out your hormones and releases the ‘happy chemicals’ your body has the natural ability to produce. Eating nutrient dense food nourishes and rebuilds your body at the cellular level. Beginning with a baseline of deep sleep, regular exercise and proper nutrition make it much more likely that you’ll have enough gas in the tank to do the hard tasks that are necessary in order to be successful in your chosen endeavors. You’ll at least have a shot at having the brain power to learn new things and tackle new challenges.
