Here’s my current kale/cacao smoothie recipe:
- Fill a 64 ounce Vitamix blender w/ kale
- One half cup raw cacao powder
- 4 scoops Promix Whey Isolate
- 1 apple
- 12 baby carrots
- 2 sticks of celery
- 1 small wedge / slice of cabbage (red or green)
- 1 avocado
- 1 cup frozen blueberries or strawberries
- 4 frozen ginger cubes from Trader Joe’s
- 1 mandarin orange
- 3/4 liter cold water
Blend until smooth.
The natural sugar from the fruit offsets the bitterness of the raw cacao to make the smoothie taste like chocolate to me. (With a total emphasis on ‘to me’…. Your mileage may vary.). I really enjoy this smoothie and have been making and drinking it for years. Feel free to vary the ratios to suit your taste. My logic with this smoothie is ‘how many healthy things can I throw in there and blend together?’.
