Here’s what I’m doing right now:

  • I play, teach, and write books about trombone.
  • I practice and play piano, bass and guitar.
  • I write music.
  • I exercise.  My current routine is
    • Strength training five days a week, with 3 days of ‘Upper Body’, and two days of ‘Lower Body-Core’. (Upper Body / Lower Body-Core / Upper Body / Lower Body-Core / Upper Body)
    • Cardio training 4 days a week. I find that varying the modalities of cardio training helps me to avoid burnout and over training. Typical cardio sessions might be: Treadmill at the gym or ‘power walks’ for 30 minutes / Rucking with a 20 lbs rucksack (currently once a week for one hour) / Jump rope to work on improving overall VO2 max. I’m still dialing in my target HR zones and figuring out my ideal cardio routines. I also end up walking a fair amount on my ‘off days’ as well.
  • I post inspirational quotes to my ‘Sleep, Eat, Be Merry‘ IG account.
  • I read books.
  • I go out and do things on this list.
  • I do my best to follow these rules.
